Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is the postgraduate degree awarded by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) New Delhi, an autonomous academic body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India to candidates who successfully complete their postgraduate or postdoctoral medical education under it. Candidate are selected based on NEET-PG examination conducted for postgraduate course all over India. Their training and exit examinations are conducted based on the highest standards.
In St. James’ Hospital accredited to DNB course was first sanctioned in Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in January 2012 with and intake of two candidates per year. Twelve candidates have successfully completed their training and two more are scheduled to complete by April 2020.
General medicine department was accredited by National Board in 2019 and two candidates are undergoing training. Inspection of facilities for accreditation in the Department of Emergency Medicine have been
completed and clearance to admission of two candidate per year is from the national board
